Give to one another
We purchase 4 balls at the pet store that make noise. We then, one by one, had the kids sit on the floor blindfolded, we then rolled the balls toward the child, their goal was to listen to where the noise was coming from and try to see how many times they could catch the balls.
Read the following scriptures:
I Peter 4:8
I Thessalonians 5:11
Talk about the fact that, to encourage one another you often have to listen very closely so you can find opportunities to be encouraging.
For example: When someone tells the truth we can say thanks for telling the truth, when someone doesn’t complaining we can say thanks for not grumbling.
Focus for the week: Don’t miss an opportunity to be encouraging at home.
We talk about how it can be hard to be encouraging to those you live with, maybe it can feel weird or maybe they hurt your feelings a lot, that’s why it’s important to listen so you won’t miss an opportunity to encourage each other when we make a good choice; or, just because.
At the end of the week we had a family talent show as a way to encourage each other.
